MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Department of Music at ×ö°®ÊÓƵ will host a variety of concerts and group recitals in December and January.
The Concordia Christmas Concerts, which feature the college’s choirs and orchestra, are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in Memorial Auditorium. Tickets cost $25 plus handling fees, and are available at ConcordiaChristmas.com or by calling 888.477.027. Concerts are also scheduled at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, with tickets at $28 to $38 each.
In addition, Concordia students will perform at the following events, all of which are free and open to the public.
Jazz Bands Concert, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, Buxton Hanson Rehearsal Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.
String & Piano Chamber Music Recital, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.
Low Brass Studio Recital, 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.
Flute and Clarinet Choir Concert, 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, Buxton Hanson Rehearsal Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.
Tactus Winter Recital, 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music. Featuring varied choral music dating from the Renaissance through contemporary pieces, including compositions by Concordia students Benjamin Archuleta and Oliver Knutson.
Percussion Ensemble Concert, 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, Memorial Auditorium.
Violin & Viola Studio Recital, 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.
Circuit721 Concert, 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.
Concordia Opera Performance, 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, Centrum.
