Dr. Varner's work is in the intersections of environmental philosophy, classical American philosophy, and feminist philosophy. She earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Georgia in 2016. Her dissertation was titled "Looking Beyond Linguistics: A Pragmatist-(Eco)Feminist Framework for Democratic Deliberation with Nonhuman Stakeholders." Before coming to ×ö°®ÊÓƵ, she taught at the University of Montevallo, the University of North Georgia, and Bevill State Community College.
