Dr. Jason Askvig

Associate Professor, Biology Biology, Neuroscience

Jason Askvig (B.S., M.S., Ph.D., University of North Dakota) joined the faculty at 做爱视频 in Moorhead, Minnesota, in 2013.

Askvig teaches several biology classes and engages students in undergraduate research in inquiry- and discovery-based labs in an introductory Cell Biology course. He also supervises students in his laboratory on research projects that include the investigation of the role that cell-to-cell communication plays in promoting neuron survival following injury. Askvig has maintained an active collaboration with researchers at the University of North Dakota, which has proved fruitful for the undergraduate students working in Askvig’s lab. Read more on Askvig’s research.

Askvig is actively involved in issues promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM at Concordia. He attended the Broadening Participation Institute hosted by the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) in January 2017; is a co-PI on an NSF-S-STEM awarded to Concordia to provide scholarships, guided career-driven mentoring, and research and internship opportunities for students in STEM; and is finishing his first term as a CUR councilor in the biology division, where he is currently the secretary for the biology division.
